Born and raised in Philadelphia, I graduated Lehigh University with a dual-degree in Computer Science & Business.
In 2008, I began a tech consulting startup called Whitemarsh Technology with Joey Nutinsky. We grew this firm to over 1,000 customers in the Philadelphia area. We built custom webapps, configured network infrastructure, and developed numerous videos for customers.
In 2013, I started a music-centric data business with a team of developers and close-friend Donald Scott. We secured funding, partnered with instrument manufactuers, and launched a B2C music matching site, providing accurate product information for 10,000+ products.
We didn't quite achieve Product-Market-Fit, so we extended the product into the B2B space, building a revenue model from a data integration service we developed.
In 2016, my love for hardware and software led me to enterprise application design and development. I led numerous B2C and B2B software teams. Notable projects include:
- A custom IoT product for construction equipment to predict pricing and share vitals on vehicle health
- A smart motorhome project which helped to start the company's IoT practice
- Hiring initiatives which scaled our offices to 4x the size
- Reinventing numerous data estates (pulling data from dozens of systems into a unified data model and building applications and reports on top)
I ended up selling along with delivering—writing code, architeting and designing products, and helping Capax to acquire better customers and projects.
In 2019, I moved from leading and selling product teams to growing one internally. We started a Growth Team with the sole purpose of acquiring, converting, and retaining customers and employees. This blog is meant to show the resources we use when guiding our decisions, and to share lessons learned from everything design, product, and growth.
